Dr Michael Shortall is to be confirmed publicly as the new President of St Patrick’s College Maynooth this paper has learned. Dr Shortall had been serving as interim president since last year when Prof. Michael Mullaney stepped down as President of St Patrick’s College Maynooth in a move that took friends and colleagues by surprise. After a recruitment process that began last April, Dr Shortall takes on the role of President on a permanent basis.
A Kilkenny man and priest of the Diocese of Dublin and a long-serving member of the college’s faculty, Dr Shortall is widely regarded for his academic work in moral theology and his leadership within the seminary community.
