Over the weekend, Lusk Athletic Club held the St MacCullin’s Parish Centenary Road Races gathering to help celebrate the parish’s 100 year anniversary. St MacCullin’s Church has served the parish of Lusk, Co. Dublin since 1925 and is now led by Fr Kevin Moore PP. Parents and families were invited to join and watch their kids race at the event which took place on the village green outside of the church on September 7.

Nicole Hodson of Lusk Athletic Club described it as a “lovely event”, with around 50 kids and teenagers racing and even more watching, supporting and cheering them on. There were five races all together, one for each age group. The youngest to race was a two year old girl. The young runners received medals after the races, and the centenary celebrations continued with refreshments in the parish hall afterwards.

Lusk Athletic Club offers a variety of opportunities for those looking to get active and be involved in their community. Another recent event the club was involved in was a park run in River Valley to raise awareness for recovery from mental illness, substance abuse and addiction.
