One child in every six who might have filled a junior infants classroom in this country is missing because of abortion

Quotes from Eilís Mulroy of the Pro Life Campaign to The Irish Catholic:

“The latest statistics from the Department of Health showing that 10,852 abortions took place in a single year represents a 280% increase since the law changed following the 2018 referendum. This amounts to a national tragedy and is a far cry from the promise made by political leaders at the time that abortion would be ‘rare’ if the referendum passed.

“Some abortion supporters react with outrage whenever these harsh realities are highlighted and attempt to shut down debate. But we cannot gloss over or explain away the heartbreaking reality of what is happening. The Government has a responsibility to take a hard look at the situation and focus on meaningful ways to reduce the number of abortions taking place. At present, most of those making the decisions are strident abortion supporters with no expertise in – or apparent interest in – bringing abortion numbers down.

“We have to confront the hard truth that one child in every six who might have filled a junior infants classroom in this country is missing because of abortion. The failure to put proper support systems in place that genuinely highlight alternatives to abortion represents a total betrayal of women and their unborn babies.”
