Irish bishops launch multimedia platform, ‘TheWay’

Adapting to the increasing demand for digital news services, the Irish Bishops’ Conference has introduced a multimedia platform designed to share “not only the Good News but our whole lives as well” (1 Thess 2:8).

Titled TheWay, the platform acts as an online network where the audience can browse through written, visual, and audial content pertaining to the Catholic Church in Ireland, such as the ‘A Question of Faith’ podcast.

To promote and market TheWay, the Irish bishops hope to work in tandem with parishes and dioceses across the nation. “If we all invest in this national network, we can ensure that quality content can flow between all of us, across dioceses and parishes, minimising duplication and costs,” said co-ordinator Crysta Gunn. Parishes will receive the material to promote TheWay within their community.

Speaking from the perspective of the bishops, Archbishop Eamon Martin shared their vision for the platform: “theWay.ie will be a national online network, helping people to discover the faith, live the faith and pass on the faith.”
