Devotees in Waterford will celebrate the canonisation with Mass at 12 and talks, adoration, rosary and more from 1pm – 2.30pm. In Offaly, the celebrations will be the day before, on Saturday with the Brendan Pastoral Area (parishes of Birr, Kilcolman, Kinnitty & Shinrone) inviting the community for a thanksgiving Mass at 7.30pm on September 6.
In Tralee, Co. Kerry, a Children’s Rosary in Holy Cross Church and prayers to Blesseds Carlo and Pier Giorgio takes place on Sunday at 11.15am and Holy Hour benediction at 3pm.
John Griffin, of the Tralee Carlo Acutis Group, has said it is “extraordinary” how young people have embraced the story of the young new saints. “The lives of both new saints relate well to the modern age where many parents are not regular church-goers but the Lord is still calling people to conversion and holiness.”
