The Clane and Rathcoffey Parish celebrated the confirmation of 150 children last weekend. Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin Denis Nulty said that “Confirmation is a wonderful moment of encounter with the young confirmandi… I had two celebrations in Clane on Friday and one in Rathcoffey on Saturday.”
This year, the bishop is “focusing on the life story and witness of Blessed Carlo Acutis, and what his message has to offer young people today. Every parish I visit put huge preparation and planning into the ceremony and the visit.”
“The emphasis in Clane Parish,” Bishop Nulty said, “very much focused on the family accompanying the young confirmandi and indeed gathering around them as they are anointed with the Oil of Chrism, a very special moment indeed.”
The next Confirmation Bishop Nulty will celebrate is in “Rathangan on Thursday while, I’ll be in Kill and Ardclough over Friday and Saturday.”
